
Real Monarchs SLC Acquire Cristian Calix on Loan for Remainder of 2019 Season

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC have acquired Honduran U-20 international Cristian Calix on loan from Atlas of Liga MX for the remainder of the 2019 USL Championship season, the club announced today. Calix's signing is pending league and federation approval and the approval of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and visa.
"Cristian is a talented player that has succeeded at every level he's played at, both at the club level and the international level," Real Monarchs SLC General Manager Dan Egner said. "He's dynamic, can play multiple positions, and will be a welcome addition to our attacking depth. We believe he is one of the top young talents in CONCACAF and are excited to see him join the club."
Calix, 19, spent the 2018 season with the Atlas in Mexico's Liga MX U-20 where he registered 382 minutes in nine matches played, scoring one goal. Calix also featured for Honduras at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland where he featured in two matches.
Real Monarchs SLC returns to action on Friday, June 12 when it hosts Tacoma Defiance at Zions Bank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8:00p MT while tickets can be purchased by visiting RealMonarchs.com or by calling 844.REAL.TIX.
