Reno 1868 FC News Release

RENO, Nev. - For the second week in a row, Reno 1868 FC had two players named to the USL Championship's Team of the Week. Midfielder Sam Gleadle and defender Zach Carroll earned the honors after the boys in blue swept Rio Grande Valley FC.

Gleadle earned the honor after he became the first 1868 player this year to score twice and assist in a single game. The 23 year old is now tied for third on the team in both goals scored and assists, with four and three, respectively.

Carroll earned the honor for the first time this season after notching his first goal of the year against Rio Grande Valley. The goal was just his third with Reno. The defender and team captain contributed to the shutout of Rio Grande Valley. The shutout was the team's second straight and fourth of the year.

Carroll joins a long list of 1868 players named to the team of the week. Through 18 weeks, the team has had seven different players named to the list. Gleadle becomes the fifth player to be named to the team twice this season, joining Duke Lacroix, Corey Hertzog and Brian Brown.
