The Reading Fightin Phils battled hard but fell 4-3 to the Erie SeaWolves. The R-Phils have lost a season-high seven straight contests.

Reading took an early lead and even outhit Erie, but couldn't hold on late in the game.

The SeaWolves got on the board first with a sacrifice fly thanks to Quincy Nieporte.

The Fightins took the lead in the second. Jhailyn Ortiz led off the frame with a double and Aldrem Corredor's base hit sent him home. Vito Friscia's ground rule double put runners on first and second. AJ Graffanino drove in Corredor to make it 2-1.

In the bottom of the third, Reading tacked on another one. Simon Muzziotti led off with a single and stole a bag to get into scoring position. Ortiz smacked him home for a 3-1 lead.

Trevor Bettencourt entered in the fifth and set down the side in order. He got one out in the sixth, but his line closed with two runs on three hits.

Francisco Morales inherited two runners in the sixth. One of them scored on a wild pitch. He was strong in the seventh 1-2-3.

Billy Sullivan pitched an inning letting up a solo shot to the first batter he faced. It was his first home run allowed since April 23. He gave up another hit but finished the rest of the frame clean.
