
Rayz Activate Lindberg, Waive Bozian

The Corpus Christi Rayz have activated veteran forward Nick Lindberg from the 30-day injured reserve list and waived defenseman A.J. Bozoian, Head Coach, Ken McRae announced on Friday afternoon. Lindberg had been inactive since the Rayz November 3rd game vs. the Texas Brahmas. In seven games this year, Lindberg has four assists. Lindberg and the Rayz will kick off the 2008 portion of their regular season on Friday Night when they host the defending President's Cup Champion Colorado Eagles at 7:05pm at the American Bank Center. For more information, please call the Rayz at 361.814.PUCK. Lindberg, 27, was a mid-season acquisition last year and helped impact the club immediately. In just 47 games last season, Lindberg had 19 goals and 20 assists for 39 points. He was also the second leading scorer in the playoffs for the Rayz, tallying 11 points (4g, 7a) in 12 games. Lindberg was sidelined midway through the Rayz seventh game of the year this season, and inactive ever since. On Friday, he'll return to the lineup for just his eighth game of the season. The Stockholm, Sweden native is in his eighth professional season and second in Corpus Christi.
Bozoian, 25, was in his first season with the Rayz and had one goal and three points in 22 games in Corpus Christi. Bozoian is a third year defenseman who had spent the majority of his career with the Fort Wayne Komets of the United Hockey League.
The Rayz are back home this weekend to kick off a brand new year. Come celebrate 2008 with the first Rayz game on Friday night against the Colorado Eagles on Harley Davidson Men's Night, Presented by Classic Rock 104.5FM. Then after a Saturday Night road game in Austin, the Rayz return on Sunday afternoon to host division rivals, the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 3:05pm on Caller-Times Family Day. Kids 12 and under receive free admission with a full-paying adult and fans can skate with the Rayz following the game in a public skating session.
