Visalia Rawhide News Release

Visalia, CA - On Friday, May 14, "Making the Cut" will take on a whole new meaning at Recreation Ballpark.

For the second year, the Rawhide will host a Locks of Love Night at the Ballpark. Those who are able to "make the cut" and are willing to donate at least 10 inches of hair to the Locks of Love non-profit organization will receive a ticket to the game, t-shirt, and cut and style from on-site Supercuts stylists.

Locks of Love is a charity that takes donated hair and makes wigs for financially disadvantaged children under 18 with medical hair loss.

Those who are not able to make the game but would like to donate their hair before the 14th are able to go to any local Supercuts location and receive the same benefits.

On the 14th, Recreation Ballpark gates will open at 6:00pm, and the donations will begin to be accepted at that time. Last year the Rawhide collected over 120 inches of hair, and they are looking to supersede that mark. As usual, there will be a post-game fireworks show to cap the night off.

Quick to-know facts about donations:

- Must be 10" or longer (from tip to tip)

- Clean and dry

- Bundled in a ponytail or braid

- No bleached hair

- Hair that has been colored or permed is acceptable
