
Rattlers win ugly

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
FORT WAYNE, IN -- JB Tucker and Casey Craig homered and Mike Saunders hit a three-run double as the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers beat the Fort Wayne Wizards 11-6 Thursday night at Memorial Stadium. The offense offset the performance by the Rattler pitchers. Four Rattler hurlers combined for ten walks and six wild pitches. Jason Snyder was the starting and winning pitcher for Wisconsin.
Bryan Sabatella put the Rattlers (10-11) in front with a sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning. After a walk to Robby Hudson, Craig hammered his third home run of the season. The two-run blast to right field put Wisconsin in front 3-0.
Sabatella knocked in another run with a fielder's choice in the top of the fourth inning. Then, the Rattlers pushed four more runs across the plate in the top of the fifth. Ron Garth drove in the first run of the inning with a fielder's choice. Wisconsin loaded the bases against losing pitcher Ben Krosschell and Saunders unloaded them with a three-run double to center to make it an 8-0 Rattler lead.
Fort Wayne (11-9) scored three runs off Snyder in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single by Seth Johnston, a fielder's choice, and a wild pitch.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Wizards got two more runs on a two-run single by Johnston to cut the lead to 8-5.
Tucker stepped to the plate with two runners aboard and no outs iin the top of the seventh. He lifted a high fly ball to deep right. Wizard right fielder Mike Baxter got back to the four-foot high wall and leapt, but the ball popped out of his glove for a three-run homer for Tucker and an 11-5 Wisconsin lead.
Fort Wayne got another run in the bottom of the ninth inning on a groundout and loaded the bases with two outs, but Edgar Guaramato ended the game for the Rattlers second win in a row.
The Rattlers conclude their road trip with the final game of the series with the Wizards on Friday night. Justin Thomas (1-2, 1.93ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Rattlers. Stevie Delabar (0-0, 4.00) is the scheduled starter for the Wizards. Game time is 5:00pm CDT.
