Arizona Rattlers News Release

Phoenix, AZ - Head Coach Todd Shell and the Arizona Rattlers will hold the franchise's first ever mini-camp December 10th, 11th, and 12th at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum, General Manager Gene Nudo announced today. The full 37-man roster will report on Friday the 10th and participate in the two-a-day workouts on Saturday and Sunday.

The team will welcome back familiar faces, along with several key new acquisitions. Sherdrick Bonner and Hunkie Cooper headline the returning Rattlers, along with veterans Randy Gatewood, Bo Kelly, Mark Tucker and Wendall Gaines. Former Indiana Firebird Evan Hlavacek and former Arizona Cardinal MarTay Jenkins lead the newcomers on Todd Shell's first roster as Rattlers Head Coach. The practices at the Coliseum will be open to the public.

"I hope our fans will come out and see what kind of team we have," said Head Coach Todd Shell. "We have some exciting young players, some great free agent pick ups, and of course, our solid nucleus. It's a good chance to get a preview of the 2005 Rattlers."

The Rattlers will open their 14th training camp on January 4 in preparation for the season opener on January 28 in Grand Rapids. Teams are allowed a 24-man active roster, in addition to four practice squad spots. Rosters must be set by January 22.

"This is an excellent opportunity to mesh our returning players with our new guys," said GM Gene Nudo. "It will give everyone a chance to get on the same page, and will help us as we prepare to go to training camp in January."

The Arizona Rattlers will kick off their 14th season of Arena Football in America West Arena on February 6th, when they host the Orlando Predators. For ticket information call 602-514-TDTD or log on to www.AZRattlers.com.
