
Rattlers camp winds down

PHOENIX - Four days after their scrimmage in Las Vegas, the Arizona Rattlers approach their final day of training camp with some tough decisions ahead as final roster cuts get near.
"Our coaching staff has our work out for us," said Rattler head coach Gene Nudo. "The camp has been extremely competitive. It's going to be hard to see some of these guys go."
The training camp roster of 37 will meet one final time tomorrow morning before it is trimmed down to league's limit of 24.
Earlier this week, the team worked on conditioning followed by a film sessions. Two-a-day practices resumed on Wednesday and Thursday while Friday was highlighted by a morning practice.
CAMP NOTES
Quarterback Sherdrick Bonner has looked extremely accurate in his passing drills this week.
Defensive specialist Joe Todd seems to be coming along as a reliable cover man, knocking down and intercepting passes in a series of one-on-one drills.
Wide receiver/defensive back Jeremiah Pope continues to impress coaches while showcasing his athletic abilities on both sides of the ball.

Rookie OL/DL Ricky Gaspar on his thoughts of camp:
"It's been a tough and competitive camp. There is a lot to learn from our veterans."
12-year veteran OL/DL Jerry Sharp:
"This is the second-toughest camp I have ever been in, but like they say - whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
Line Coach Ed Flanagan:
"It's been excellent. I can tell you that each element of the camp has been precise. Despite a few minor injuries, things have been positive and we have made some real progress."

Sunday, January 22 Roster cut down day
Practices are held at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The Rattlers will kick off their 15th season in the 20-year-old Arena Football League on Sunday, January 29 on the road against the Los Angeles Avengers. The game is set to kick off at 1:00 p.m. and will be televised on NBC. Nine-game ticket packages can be purchased by calling 602-514-TDTD.
