Nashville Kats News Release
NASHVILLE (Jan. 20, 2005) - The Kats season opener against the New York Dragons will air live on Nashville's UPN 30 (WUXP) on Sat., Jan. 28, Kats general manager Bob Flynn announced on Friday.
The game, which will take place at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, N.Y., will air live at 6 p.m. CT. George Plaster and Willy Daunic will call the action.
"We are thrilled to give our fans the opportunity to see our season opener next week," said Flynn. "The great arena football fans that we have here deserve to see their team play its first game, and thanks to the great people at UPN 30, that's going to happen."
The contest will be the first of at least six Kats games to be televised in 2006. A complete television schedule will be announced next week.
The Kats open the season against the Dragons, who won the AFL's Eastern Division last season. New York quarterback Aaron Garcia was recently named as one of the 20 Greatest AFL Players, and the Dragons feature one of the highest-scoring offenses in the league.
