GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 2015 Golf Outing raised $6,822 for Miracle League of the Fox Valley. The amount raised this year brings the total amount of money raised since the outing began in 2010 to just over $34,000. This year's event was held on July 27 at Shamrock Heights Golf Course in New London.
"The Timber Rattlers are proud of our association with the Miracle League and we are happy to donate the proceeds of this year's golf outing to their organization once again," said Rob Zerjav, Timber Rattlers president and general manager. "We will always do our best to support such a worthy cause as their program means so much, to so many baseball fans and families in this area. Our thanks go out to everyone that played golf and was a part of the fun day at Shamrock Heights Golf Course."
The donations came from entry fees, hole and tee box sponsorships, donations, and a series of raffles and contests held during the event.
The Miracle League of the Fox Valley, an organized baseball league for children aged 4-19 with physical and/or cognitive disabilities, was formed in 2008 by Fox Valley parents Lisa and Mark Robbins. The league plays their games at the John Wollner Fox Cities Miracle Field in Appleton's Memorial Park.
"Since our inaugural season in 2010, the Timber Rattlers have offered unbelievable support, advocacy and fun for the Miracle League of the Fox Valley and our athletes," said Lisa Robbins, the managing director for The Miracle League of the Fox Valley. "The golf outing that they host on our behalf provides much needed financial support that assists with the success of our program. We're extremely thankful and proud to be a part of their team and value the community partnership we have with them."
A check presentation will be made to Miracle League of the Fox Valley on the field prior to the Timber Rattlers game at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium on Wednesday, August 26.
