River City Rascals News Release

O'FALLON, MO - The Rascals rallied with three runs in the eighth for a 6-3 come from behind win over the Evansville Otters at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. River City entered the frame tied at three with Evansville.

The Rascals (12-7) kicked off the eighth with a double by Kevin Reynolds, his fourth hit of the night. After a Brandon Dill pitch hit Chris Colton, Scott Robinson laced a double to right to plate two runs for a 5-3 lead. Pete Paris added another insurance run with a single to left, his first professional run batted in.

Chris Ingoglia (3-1) benefited from the late rally, earning his third win. The lefty was fantastic on the mound, working eight innings allowing eight hits and three runs with five strikeouts. It was the longest outing by a Rascals pitcher this season.

The Otters (6-13) led for most of the game, plating one in the first, fourth and sixth innings. Greg Alexander singled home a run in the first for a 1-0 lead. Reece Gorman made it 2-0 in the fourth on his second home run of the season. Evansville took a 3-1 lead in the sixth on a Dustin Koca long ball, his fourth in 2009.

The Rascals kept rallying throughout, cutting into the lead multiple times. River City answered in the fourth on a sacrifice fly from Robinson, scoring Reynolds after he tripled with one out. River City scored an unearned run in the sixth off starter, John Ducey, on a Colton RBI single.

River City tied the game at three in the seventh on a groundout by Andy Reilly. Joe Billick led off with a walk and reliever, Josh Lowey, came in to pinch run. Chris Warters doubled Lowey to third, who then scored on the Reilly out.

Ducey was equally as good on the mound, working seven frames allowing six hits and three runs (two earned) with six strikeouts.

Dill (1-1) was tagged with the loss after three Rascals crossed the plate in the eighth. The right-hander allowed four hits and the three runs, which were the first earned runs this season against Dill.

Jason Lowey picked up his fourth save of the season, working a perfect ninth.

Reynolds finished with a season-high four hits, including two doubles, a triple and two runs scored. Robinson plated three on two hits and Warters was 2-4 with two doubles, the first of which was his first hit as a professional. The Rascals and Otters meet again tomorrow night at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. Tyler Musselwhite will oppose Rashad Ford on the mound. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. with a 6:45 p.m. pre-game show on 590 the Fan KFNS and online at www.kfns.com.
