Ogden Raptors News Release

Riding into Game 2 fresh off their most dominant win of the year, the Raptors kept the momentum rolling Tuesday night - jumping out to an early lead and never looking back.

After giving up three hits in the opening frame, Eli Elliott found his rhythm on the mound, limiting the damage to just one run and escaping a two-on, two-out jam. From there, he settled in and dominated - tossing a one-two-three fifth and closing six strong with a final line of one run, two walks, and seven strikeouts.

Voyagers starter Luke Helton held the Raptors scoreless in the first, but Ogden's offense broke through in the second with a four-run inning sparked by their signature small-ball approach. Kyler Stancato padded the now three-run lead with RBI hits in both the fourth and sixth innings.

The Raptors extended the lead even more with another four-run frame highlighted by True Fontenot securing his fourth hit of the game, which essentially put the game on ice. From there, the bullpen locked it down and continued to play lights out. Christian Ciuffetelli, Cameron Edmonson, and Nik Cardinal each tossed a scoreless frame to earn the win.

Ciuffetelli, coming off an impressive debut series in Boise, struck out two of the three batters he faced in his Lindquist Field debut. Edmonson followed with a pair of punchouts in the eighth before handing the ball to Cardinal, who worked a clean ninth to seal the victory and make it two straight for Ogden.

The Raptors pitching staff has found its groove, backed by steady and opportunistic offense - a combo that's led to two straight dominant wins at home.

They'll look to make it three by securing the series sweep, tomorrow night, Thursday June 11th, with first pitch set for 6:30 PM at Lindquist Field in Ogden.
