Westchester Knicks guard Jimmer Fredette scored 21 points to lead his club past Raptors 905 107-101 Sunday evening at Hershey Centre in Mississauga.
Raptors 905 held an early lead after going on a 6-0 run to end the first quarter up by five, 24-19. The Mississauga club held its early momentum through most of the second quarter, stretching its lead to 11 at one point, before the Knicks outscored the home team 17-8 in the final 4:32 of the period to reduce the gap to just two points, 52-50, at halftime.
Westchester finished the third quarter by outscoring Raptors 905 17-7 in last 5:34 to take a 76-73 advantage into the final period and never gave up the lead again en route to the win.
Along with Fredette's 21 points, Westchester also got double-digit points from Sean Marshall (game-high 20 off the bench), Thanasis Antetokounmpo (14), Travis Trice II (13), Jordan Bachynski (11) and Jordon Crawford (10). Raptors 905's Ronald Roberts Jr. shared the game high in points (21) with Fredette and added a game-high 20 rebounds for his fourth double-double in six games this season. Other double-digit point producers for Raptors 905 included Axel Toupane (18), Delon Wright (18), Melvin Johnson III (18) and Scott Suggs (11). Wright also collected a game-high 10 assists. Bruno Caboclo had a game-high five blocks, all of which came in the first half.
Westchester led Raptors 905 in field goal percentage (49.4-40.2) and points in the paint (50-36), while Raptors 905 held the advantage in three point percentage (39.3-31.6), free throw percentage (82.8-76.7), second-chance points (18-16) and fast-break points (19-15).
Raptors 905 is back in action Wednesday, December 16 when the club plays host to the Grand Rapids Drive at Hershey Centre in Mississauga at 7:30 p.m.
