Raptors 905 News Release

Raptors 905, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, will travel to Santa Cruz, California this week for two games as part of the NBA Development League Showcase. The 19-game Showcase will run over five days, from January 6-10, and will feature the league's 19 teams playing two regular-season games apiece.

Raptors 905's first contest will be considered a home game as it takes on the Sioux Falls Skyforce at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz Thursday, January 7 at 8 p.m. ET. The Mississauga club will be the away team for its second game as it faces the Rio Grande Valley Vipers Saturday, January 9 at 8 p.m. ET. Both games will be streamed on Raptors905.com. The first game will be broadcast live on NBA TV Canada and streamed on delay, while the second game will be streamed live.

Attended by player personnel executives from all 30 NBA teams, the NBA D-League Showcase presented by Samsung is a platform for players and coaches to display their talents for five consecutive days in one location. More than 45 NBA D-League players have earned GATORADE Call-Ups during or immediately following the last 11 NBA D-League Showcases.

The 12th annual NBA D-League Showcase presented by Samsung will crown a champion based first on a team's overall win-loss record at the event. The advanced basketball statistic Net Rating (calculated by subtracting Defensive Rating from Offensive Rating) will be used as the first tiebreaker. Any remaining ties will then be resolved using a team's Strength of Schedule, as determined by that team's pre-Showcase opponents' winning percentage.
