
Bighorns Extend Win Streak to Four, Defeat Vipers at Home

RENO, NV - After trailing the Rio Grande Valley Vipers by 17 points, the Bighorns rallied during the fourth quarter to defeat the Vipers 126-122 Monday night at the Reno Events Center, improving their record to 11-7.
Erick Green paced the Bighorns with 40 points, five rebounds and seven assists. Ricky Ledo netted 29 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and added seven assists. Reggie Hearn totaled 25 points and four rebounds.
During the first quarter Green notched 10 points. Green went 3-4 from the field during the quarter. Ledo tallied five points and five rebounds in the first as Hunter notched four points.
Ledo had 13 points and five rebounds in the second quarter while Hearn posted five points in the quarter. Cliff Hammonds notched four points and two steals in the second.
At the half, the Bighorns trailed the Vipers 66-54.
Green led the Bighorns in the third quarter with 13 points and three assists. Hearn notched six points in the quarter as Chad Toppert tallied five. The Bighorns trailed the Vipers by 17 in the third quarter.
The Bighorns came alive during the final quarter, outscoring the Vipers 40-23. Green paced the team in the quarter with 15 points, three rebounds and three assists. Hearn followed Green closely, scoring 11 points and adding three rebounds. Ledo had nine points, three rebounds and two assists in the quarter. The Bighorns shot 54.2 percent from the field compared to the Vipers shooting 44.4 percent from the field in the quarter. The Bighorns also outshot the Vipers from the three point range, shooting 54.5 percent from behind the arc as the Vipers shot 40.0 percent during the third.
The Bighorns travel to Santa Cruz for the 2016 NBA Development League Showcase to face the Westchester Knicks Friday, Jan. 8 at 12:30 P.M. PST. Following the Friday matchup, the Bighorns will take-on the Maine Red Claws on Sunday, Jan. 10 at 3 P.M. PST.
