Raptors 905 Escape with Overtime Win

Raptors 905 (4-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce (6-4) 126-124 in overtime Sunday afternoon. The 905 were led by Ron Harper Jr. who contributed 26 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the victory. Jamaree Bouyea led the Skyforce with 25 points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals, and a block.
The Skyforce opened took the game in the opening minutes, taking an early 21-13 lead, however, the 905 were able to drop the lead to five as the quarter came to end. The905 regained the lead after they opened the second quarter on a 13-5 run, outscoring the home team 38-28, and taking a five-point advantage into the break.
Coming out ofhalftime, thetwo teams exchanged baskets back-and-forth with the visitors holding onto the lead entering the final 12 minutes. Down three, the Skyforce mounted their comeback bid, outscoring the 905 26-23 and tying the game at 117.
The two teams entered overtime with the newly implemented a Target Score of adding seven points to the tied score for overtime games. The Target Score was set to 124 and the first team to hit or surpass wins. Hassani Gravett led the 905 in overtime, securing five of the required seven points, but it was David Johnson's three from 29 feet out that secured the overtime win for the Raptors 905.
The 905 were paced by Gravett who put up 22 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and a steal in Sioux Falls. The Skyforce saw complementary scoring from Mychal Mulder who added 25 points, six rebounds, and a steal in the match.
The Raptors 905 continue their road trip in Wisconsin taking on the Herd on January 21st, tip-off scheduled for 8:00 pm. The Skyforce continue their homestand, hosting the Lakeland Magic Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
