Raptors 905 (1-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, dropped their final match of 2023 against the Wisconsin Herd (2-0) 94-104 Saturday afternoon. Justise Winslow led the 905 with 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals while Wenyen Gabriel put up a game-high 28 points and seven rebounds for the Herd.
Wisconsin got off to a hot start against the 905, scoring 35 in the opening quarter while holding their opponents to just 19 points. Gabriel and Marques Bolden (14 points, 12 rebounds) combined for 20 of the Herd's 35 first-quarter points. The 905 fought back in the second quarter outscoring the visitors and bringing the game within 10 points going into the break.
The two teams traded baskets through the third quarter, with the 905 outscoring the Herd 23-21 in the quarter. Raptors 905 mounted their comeback bid in the final frame, bringing the game within five points, but were unable to come away with the victory in Mississauga.
Mouhamadou Gueye paced the 905 with 16 points, nine rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. The Herd received complementary scoring from TyTy Washington Jr. who contributed 23 points, three rebounds, and eight assists in the victory.
Raptors 905 open 2024 with a two-game series in College Park, on Jan 4 at 7:00 p.m. The Herd return to Wisconsin to host the Greensboro Swarm Friday, tip-off slated for 8:00 p.m.
