
Rapidz to make up suspended game

(OTTAWA, ON) JUNE 18, 2008 - The game taking place Wednesday, June 18 between the Quebec Capitales and Ottawa Rapidz has been suspended due to inclement weather. The game will take place July 4 in Quebec City prior to the first game of the four-game series. The game will resume beginning in the same inning and with the same score from which it was suspended.
For the first time in the series, the Rapidz got on the board first. Juan Infante, Jereme Milons and Jabe Bergeron all hit and scored for a 3-0 Rapidz lead after one inning.
Noel Baca III started for the Rapidz allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit, while walking five with one strikeout in 1.1 innings of work. In total, Rapidz pitchers allowed 10 walks, walked in four runs on a night which the Capitales scored seven runs on only three hits. When the game was suspended after the fourth inning the score was 7-3 in favour of the Capitales. For the Capitales, Kevin Beavers allowed five hits, two walks and three runs (all earned) in four innings of work.
The Rapidz now depart on a three-game road series beginning Friday, June 20 against the Nashua Pride. The Rapidz then return home for a seven-game home stand against the Sussex Skyhawks and Brockton Rox.
