Colorado Rapids News Release

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (Friday, March 20, 2009) - The Colorado Rapids announced today the team has signed defender Scott Palguta and forward Gregory Richardson. Per club and league policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Palguta comes to the Rapids after four years with United Soccer League First Division club the Rochester Rhinos, where he played under current Rapids Assistant Coach Steve Guppy in 2008. A versatile defender, Palguta started all but one game during his collegiate career at Cornell and is the only player from the Ivy League to be drafted into the USL First Division.

Colorado also officially adds Richardson to their roster after obtaining his rights back on February 27 in a trade with Toronto FC.

The addition of both players fills all 24 roster spots for Colorado as the team kicks off their 14th Major League Soccer season playing Chivas USA this Saturday, March 21 at 8:30 pm MT at The Home Depot Center.
