
Rapids Place Three Players on Waivers

Denver, CO (Tuesday, November 15, 2005)- The Colorado Rapids announced today that they placed forward Diego Serna, forward Wolde Harris and midfielder Alain Nkong on waivers. The three players will be eligible to be selected in the Major League Soccer's waiver draft, which takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 16 via conference call. If the players are not selected in the waiver draft, the Rapids will retain their MLS rights for 12 months.
Nkong, who was signed by the team at the beginning of the 2005 season, played a total of 28 games for the Black and Blue, netting five goals and four assists. The Cameroonian international was called up by his country's national team to join them in the African Cup of Nations 2006 tournament, to be played in Egypt at the beginning of next year.
Serna, the Colombian forward, played a total of 13 minutes with the Rapids during the regular season in his short stint in Colorado.
Harris, the former Jamaican international, played a total of 10 games for Head Coach Fernando Clavijo's side, netting one goal in the 505 minutes he logged on the field.
The MLS Waiver draft will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 16 via conference call.
