
Rangers shutdown the Spitfires

Kitchener, ON: Dan Turple turned aside all 18 shots that he faced tonight earning the 3rd star and a 5-0 shutout win over the Windsor Spitfires tonight before a crowd of 5,913.
Jakub Kindl opened the scoring in the first period with his 4th goal of the season at 17:49. The goal came on the power play.
In the second period Justin Azevedo scored his 6th goal of the season in his return to the lineup at 16:41.
Azevedo buried his second of the night and 7th on the season at 9:41 of the third period to open up a 3-0 Rangers lead. Kevin Henderson made it a 4-0 game with his first goal of the season at 10:54. Craig Voakes redirected a point shot at 14:09 while on the power play for his 9th of the season and a 5-0 lead.
The Rangers return to the ice tomorrow night to face the Sarnia Sting in Sarnia. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
Game Notes: Justin Azevedo notched 2 goals and 1 assist in his return to the lineup...Evan McGrath continued his strong play picking up 3 assists...Craig Voakes also had a 3 point game with a goal and 2 assists...Turple's shutout was his 2nd of the season...the Rangers were 4/11 on the power play... the Spitfires were 0/8 on the power play...5,913 fans attended the game...the Rangers snapped their 2 game losing streak.
