Rangers Reassign Pyatt And Holt To Checkers

Charlotte, N.C. - The New York Rangers of the National Hockey League have reassigned forward, Tom Pyatt and goaltender, Chris Holt to the Charlotte Checkers. Also, the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League have released defenseman, Jared Nightingale from his Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement.

Pyatt, 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, hails from Thunder Bay, Ontario. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He has competed in 41 games this season with Hartford where he accumulated four goals and seven assists for 11 points. Before his professional career, he played four years in the Ontario Hockey League with the Saginaw Spirit.

Holt has competed in nine games for Hartford this season with a record of 5-3 garnering a goals against average of 2.42 and a save percentage of .906. In 17 games with the Checkers this season, he has a record of 8-7-1 with a 2.59 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

Nightingale suited up in two games for the Wolf Pack. During that time, he collected four penalty minutes but did not register a point. In 50 games with the Checkers this season, he has totaled one goal and eight assists for nine points with 137 penalty minutes

The Checkers are in their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. Their next home game takes place on March 4 against the Gwinnett Gladiators. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date.
