
Rangers Fall 7-1 To Spitfires

Ryan Ellis tallied five assists and a goal to lead the Windsor Spitfires to a 7-1 victory over the Kitchener Rangers.
A deflection by Alexander Khokhlachev at 7:07 on a Windsor power play opened up scoring for the game and put the Spitfires up 1-0. Tom Kuhnhackl made it 2-0 Windsor after netting a wrist shot over the glove of Rangers netminder Mike Morrison, just 26-seconds after Khokhlachev's goal. A slapshot by Khokhlachev increased the score 3-0 for the Spitfires by 15:38.
Ryan Ellis scored off a slapshot from the point at the 5:46 mark of the second period to put Windsor up by 4. Kerby Rychel made it 5-0 beating Morrison top shelf at 8:25. Khokhlachev picked up his hat-trick to put Windsor up 6-0 by the 14:19 mark. The Rangers got on the scoreboard with a goal by Ben Thomson, who directed a Tobias Rieder shot into the Spitfires net at 17:11. 18-seconds following, Khokhlachev responded with his fourth goal of the game to put Windsor up 7-1.
The Rangers travel to Windsor on Sunday, January 30th for a 2:00pm game versus the Spirit. They return to home ice on Friday, February 4th to host the Plymouth Whalers.
