Rangers Fall 4-1 To Plymouth

The Kitchener Rangers closed out their regular season home schedule with a 4-1 loss to the Plymouth Whalers.

Michael Catenacci beat Plymouth netminder Matt Mahalak with a backhand-forehand shot from the side of the net to open scoring in the game and put the Rangers up 1-0. The goal came at the 15:36 of the first period. The remainder of the period was scoreless.

The Whalers scored three unanswered goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. Jamie Devane scored a short-handed marker 0:07 in to the period to tie the score at 1-1. Beau Schmitz scored off a Devane feed at the 5:51 mark to put Plymouth up 2-1. Stefan Noesen increased the Whalers lead 3-1 with his 34th goal of the season at 16:11.

Plymouth's Dario Trutmann scored an empty net goal with 22-seconds left in the third period to close scoring 4-1.

The Rangers travel to London on Sunday, March 20th for a 4:00pm game versus the Knights. This is Kitchener's last regular season game before playoffs.

The dates and opponent for the opening round of the playoffs have yet to be determined. No refunds or exchanges will be issued in the event you cannot make a playoff game.

A reminder to season ticket holders who have ordered the full 16 game convenience package or done the pre-authorized credit card payment, tickets are available for pick up at the Aud box office only. Season ticket holders who have not already purchased playoff tickets will have their seats held until 48 hours before the start of both home game A and home game B.
