Head-to-head:

These two teams have only played each other five times over the last five seasons. Kitchener has a 4-1-0-0 record in that span. Their only loss came on Nov. 30 2019. Kitchener also has a 2-1-0-0 record in Peterborough in that time.

Kitchener swept a home-and-home series with Guelph in their last two games, outscoring the Storm 9-2. The Rangers are averaging 4.75 goals per game over their last four contests, scoring less than four goals once in their only loss in that span. The Rangers are on a two-game win streak and improved to 5-5-0-0 in their last 10 games. Peterborough is looking to snap a three-game slide and have fallen to 4-6-0-0 in their last 10 games. Their offence has clicked as of late scoring four or more goals in three of their last four as well.

Peterborough is 3-3-0-1 against Western Conference opponents this season, only recording one win in regulation which came against the Soo Greyhounds at home. Kitchener has a 3-4-0-0 record against eastern conference opponents this season. They defeated the North Bay Battalion in both games against them this season and their other win came at home to Sudbury.

Scouting the Rangers:

Two Rangers enter play on multi-game point streaks. Carson Rehkopf extended his point streak to four Tuesday night after adding an assist. Rehkopf is averaging two points per game recording eight points (5G, 3A) in four games. He now has 12 goals on the season and is third in the OHL with eight power-play goals. His 20 points is good for a tie in second on the Rangers' roster with Joseph Serpa and Hunter Brzustewicz.

The second Ranger on a point streak is captain Francesco Pinelli. Pinelli has eight points (6G, 2A) in three games since his return from suspension and has been an offensive spark for the Rangers. He leads the Rangers in points on the season with 28 (17G, 11A) in 20 games.

Two Ranger forwards also recorded points in returns to the lineup. Joseph Serpa recorded an assist after being healthy scratched in Guelph Saturday night and Filip Mešár (Montréal Canadiens) recorded two goals in his return after a couple of games absence due to an upper body injury. Mešár scored the second and third goals for Kitchener on Tuesday in a 4-1 win giving him his second game-winning goal of the season and second against Guelph. Additionally, Adrian Misaljevic recorded his first goal of the season last game.

Marcus Vandenberg has stepped up huge for Kitchener after injuries to Jackson Parsons and Marco Costantini. Over the last two games, Vandenberg is carrying a 1.00 goals against average and a 0.965 save percentage. He now owns the fourth-best save percentage in the OHL at 0.913 and holds a goals against average of 2.74.

Tomas Hamara (Ottawa Senators), Filip Mešár (Montréal Canadiens), Francesco Pinelli (Los Angeles Kings) and Roman Schmidt (Tampa Bay Lightning) are four Kitchener skaters that are both drafted and signed by their NHL clubs respectively.

Scouting the Petes:

Forward J.R. Avon recently recorded a 10-game point streak in which he had 13 points (5G, 8A). The Philadelphia Flyers' draft pick is averaging a point-per-game this season with 24 points (11G, 13A) in as many games.

New York Ranger's first-round pick, Brennan Othmann was acquired by the Petes in a deal with the Flint Firebirds earlier in the year. Othmann has recorded nine points in nine games with Peterborough and is tied for the sixth highest point total in the OHL this season with 33 points (13G, 20A) in 25 games.

Peterborough's second year goaltender Michael Simpson is in the top three of every goaltending statistic this season. His 2.68 goals against average is the second-best in the league and his save percentage (0.915) is third best.

J.R. Avon (Philadelphia Flyers), Connor Lockhart (Vancouver Canucks), Brennan Othmann (New York Rangers), Tucker Robinson (Seattle Kraken), Chase Stillman (New Jersey Devils) and Brian Zanetti (Philadelphia Flyers) are six Pete skaters that are both drafted or signed by their NHL clubs respectively.
