Rangers Add Rizk From Spirit

Kitchener, ON: Rangers Head Coach and General Manager Peter DeBoer announced this afternoon that the Rangers have acquired RW Jean-Michel Rizk from the Saginaw Spirit.

In exchange for Rizk the team sent RW Joe McCann to the Spirit along with a 2006 second round pick and a 2006 seventh round pick.

With the Spirit Rizk played 41 games this season picking up 15 points (6G, 9A) and 48 PIM's.

Rizk was originally acquired by Spirit as their 1st round selection (5th overall) in the 2002 OHL Priority Selection.

In 3 seasons in Saginaw Rizk played 172 games scoring 25 goals and adding 51 assists.

McCann played 27 games this season with the Rangers picking up 3 points (2G, 1A).
