Saginaw Makes McCann a Spirit

The Saginaw Spirit have acquired forward Joe McCann from the Kitchener Rangers for forward Jean-Michel Rizk. Kitchener is also sending Saginaw 2nd and 7th round draft picks in the 2006 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.

McCann is a 17 year old, 6'2", 195 pound right wing from Essex Ontario. He was Kitchener's fourth round pick in the 2003 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. He has 2 goals and 1 assist in 28 games with the Rangers in 2004-05. He played 2003-04 with the Leamington Jr. "B" Flyers, where he had 8 goals and 49 assists in 45 games.

The Saginaw Spirit, Mid-Michigan's Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Franchise plays 34 home games from September to March. The OHL is part of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), which also includes the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
