Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Jorbit Vivas homered and drove in five runs, as the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes blasted the Stockton Ports on Friday night at LoanMart Field, winning by a score of 11-3.
Vivas popped a three-run homer as part of a four-run first against Ports' starter Jake Walkinshaw (1-1), then singled home a pair in the fourth inning, as the Quakes got out to an early lead and never looked back, winning for the third time in four tries against Stockton.
Quakes' starter Gavin Stone pitched well, allowing just one run over 3.1 innings in the no-decision.
Aldry Acosta (1-1) was credited with the win while Michael Martinez closed out the game, firing 2.1 innings of scoreless relief in his Rancho debut.
Diego Cartaya continued his red-hot start for the Quakes, as he reached base the first three times he came to the plate on Friday night, finishing 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored.
Rancho (11-10), now a half-game up on Lake Elsinore in the South Division standings, will look for four out of five on Saturday night, as they send Robbie Peto (0-1) to the hill against Stockton's Grant Judkins (0-0).
