THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, Nov. 13 vs. Chicago Wolves, AT&T Center, 7:00 p.m.
Chicago will make its first visit to the Alamo City of the 2009-10 campaign on Friday. Last season, San Antonio earned a record of 3-3-0-0 against the Wolves, including a 2-1-0-0 record at the AT&T Center. The contest will mark Wolves defenseman and three-time Stanley Cup Champion Chris Chelios' first-ever game in San Antonio. Sunday, Nov. 15 vs. Texas Stars, AT&T Center, 3:00 p.m.
San Antonio will host the West Division-leading Texas Stars in a "Lone Star Faceoff" matchup on Sunday afternoon. This season, the Rampage are 1-1-1-0 against Texas and 1-1-0-0 against the Stars at the AT&T Center. In the last meeting between the two clubs on Oct. 30, Texas defeated host San Antonio 3-0.
SHOTS FROM THE POINT 09-10
STELLAR START: Rampage defenseman Sean Sullivan is currently tied for first among AHL blueliners in game-winning goals (2), second among AHL defensemen in plus-minus rating (+9), and fourth among AHL defensemen in assists (10). Sullivan has 13 points (3g, 10a) in his first 12 games of the 2009- 10 campaign thus far, ranking him fourth among AHL blueliners in that category.
EARLY ADVANTAGE: San Antonio is 5-0-1-0 this season when scoring first in a contest and 2-0-0-0 when leading after the first period of play.
SPECIAL TEAMS: San Antonio is currently ranked 13th overall on the power play (15.9%) and 14th overall on the penalty kill (84.0%). The Rampage maintain the AHL's ninth-best home power play percentage (20.7 %) and are ranked 21st among AHL teams in home penalty kill percentage (81.6 %).
COYOTE WATCH: The Phoenix Coyotes, San Antonio's NHL parent club, currently hold a 10-7-0 record through 17 games and presently sit in third place in the NHL's Pacific Division with 20 standings points. On Saturday, Phoenix fell to the Anaheim Ducks by a 4-3 score at Honda Center.
Ice Chips: Right Wing - Viktor Tikhonov
San Antonio right wing Viktor Tikhonov has been on a Rampage of late, tallying a point in each of San Antonio's three games last week (1g, 2a).
The 21 year-old Riga, Latvia native has recorded two goals and six assists for eight points in 15 games with the Rampage this season. Last season, Tikhonov appeared in 61 NHL games with Phoenix, registering 16 points (8g, 8a) and 20 penalty minutes.
