San Antonio Rampage News Release

Ontario, Calif. - The San Antonio Rampage (4-0-1-0) extended their winning streak to four games with a 3-2 overtime victory over the Ontario Reign (5-0-1-0) in front of 6,959 at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Friday night. Ben Street scored the game-winning goal with 37 seconds left in the extra frame, earning him the First Star of the Game. Zach Redmond and Colin Smith also tallied goals for San Antonio.

Both teams were scoreless through the first period, as goaltenders Peter Budaj and Calvin Pickard each recorded 12 saves.

Nine minutes into the second period, the Reign got on the board with a goal by Nic Dowd. A turnover by the Rampage in their zone created an opportunity for Dowd to fire shot into the top left corner of the net, and for the first time this season, San Antonio did not score the game's opening goal. It also marked the first time the Rampage have trailed in a game since entering the third period against Grand Rapids on Oct. 16 with a 2-1 deficit. Nearly five minutes later San Antonio's Zach Redmond tied the game at two with a sneaky, low-angle shot past Budaj.

A Colin Smith goal in the ninth minute of the third frame gave the Silver and Black a 2-1 lead, but Justin Auger managed to sneak one past Pickard on the power play late in regulation, forcing the game into overtime.

In the last minute of overtime, Street found the back of the net, scoring on his ninth shot of the evening to secure the win for San Antonio. Calvin Pickard finished with 35 saves on 37 shots. San Antonio converted one of their four power play opportunities while holding the Reign to one goal on four opportunities with the man advantage. Key Stat In his fifth consecutive game Street has recorded at least one assist, leaving him one game shy of a franchise record assist streak. Street has the opportunity to join five others in the Rampage's longest assist streak at six games when he faces off against the Reign Saturday night. With eight assists through the first five games of the season, Street would be the first-ever Rampage player to record more than seven assists in a six game period.
