San Antonio Rampage News Release

Ontario, Calif. - The San Antonio Rampage (5-0-1-0) defeated the Ontario Reign (5-0-2-0) 2-1 in overtime in front of 6,135 at Citizens Business Bank Arena Saturday night. Ben Street spoiled the Halloween evening for the Reign by scoring the game-winning goal in overtime for the second time in this two-game series, earning the First Star of the Game.

Andrew Agozzino, back in the lineup after missing two games with an upper-body injury, wasted no time making his presence known on the ice. Agozzino scored 24 seconds into the first period. San Antonio was outshot 21-4 in the frame, but the Rampage entered the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.

Both teams were scoreless through the second stanza, and Calvin Pickard was 44 seconds from recording his second shutout of the season before Ontario pulled goalie Ray Emery for the extra attacker and got a goal from Kevin Gravel to force the contest into overtime.

In the fourth minute of the extra frame, San Antonio found themselves on a 2-on-0 situation, and Street knocked in a pass from Agozzino to secure the victory for the Silver and Black and extend their winning streak to five games. Pickard finished with 37 saves on 38 shots, earning the Third Star of the Game. The Rampage were 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Reign were scoreless on four chances with the man advantage.

Key Stat Street has now recorded at least one assist in six consecutive games, leaving him one game shy of a franchise record. The Rampage captain can join Drew Shore as the holder of the Rampage's longest assist streak record (seven games) when San Antonio faces off against the San Diego Gulls on Tuesday. With nine assists through the first six games of the season, Street would be the first-ever Rampage player to record more than seven assists in a seven-game period.

Lineup Notes Agozzino played on San Antonio's top line with Street and Mikko Rantanen. Colin Smith, who had moved up to the top line on Friday night, played with Borna Rendulic and Joey Hishon on the second line. The defensive pairings remained identical to Friday night.

Up Next San Antonio takes on the San Diego Gulls at 9:05 p.m. (CT) Tuesday before returning home against the Chicago Wolves on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m., the first Bud Light $1 Drink Night of the season. Individual and season tickets are available and can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com.
