November 15, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 15, 2015) - Backed by a 46-save performance from Spencer Martin, the San Antonio Rampage (8-1-4-0) beat the Texas Stars (8-5-0-1) 3-1 in front of 3,619 at the AT&T Center on Sunday evening. Martin's 46 saves is a season high for the Rampage and earned the goaltender, who was making his AHL debut, the First Star of the Game.
Maxim Noreau got the Rampage on the board with an early power play goal, and Chris Bigras' blast from the point added to the lead just over five minutes into the contest.
A Gemel Smith power-play goal just 2:36 into the second stanza cut the San Antonio lead to one, and the Rampage took a 2-1 lead into the intermission.
Michael Schumacher scored an insurance goal for the Rampage late in the final frame to secure the 3-1 win, San Antonio's second victory in four meetings with their interstate rival.
San Antonio finished 1-for-3 on the power play while holding the Stars to one goal on six opportunities with the man advantage.
Lineup Notes
Marc-Andre Cliché was bumped up to the Rampage's top line, centering Andrew Agozzino and Mikko Rantanen. Borna Rendulic, who played on the third line Friday, moved to the second line alongside Colin Smith and Reid Petryk. Martin made his first start in net.
