Crunch Players and Staff to Collect Spare Change Outside War Memorial Arena November 16
November 15, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Syracuse Crunch News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch players and staff will be collecting spare change on street corners around the War Memorial Arena during the morning commute beginning at 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 16. All change collected will go towards Change for Change presented by Upstate University Hospital.
Change for Change is an initiative created by Crunch captain Mike Angelidis and his teammates during the 2014-15 season. It aims to raise money for pediatric cancer research at Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital and help improve the odds for children with cancer. The fundraising campaign was inspired by a boy named Griffin Engle and is done in honor of one child each year. This season, the Crunch are honoring Sophie Kanejsza, who lost her battle with pediatric cancer in 2012, just before her ninth birthday.
