Albany Devils News Release

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Eric Selleck scored with 16 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Springfield Falcons a 2-1 victory against the Albany Devils Sunday at MassMutual Center. The OT loss halts the Devils' four game-winning streak, but extends their point streak to six games.

Albany, which earned five of six points during the weekend, trailed for most of the game after Springfield's Tyler Gaudet made it 1-0 at 8:45 of the first period. The Devils found the equalizer off Paul Thompson's stick with 2:25 remaining in regulation. Thompson, who returned from an upper-body injury during Friday's game, scored his second goal of the season. Vojtech Mozik and Dan Kelly assisted on the tally.

During the extra frame, Matt Lorito came close to giving the Devils their ninth win of the season, but Springfield netminder Louis Domingue denied the rookie on a breakaway. Moments later Selleck beat goaltender Yann Danis to extend the Falcons' winning streak to three games and give them their seventh win in the last eight outings.

Danis, who hasn't lost in regulation since the first game of the season, made a season-high 35 saves. Domingue registered his fifth win; he had 33 saves.

These two teams meet again Friday at Times Union Center. Puck drop is at 7 pm.
