January 26, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release

HOUSTON - The San Antonio Rampage arrived in Houston looking for their first win down Interstate-10 this season. They left with back-to-back victories and a season-high five-game road unbeaten streak.

Daniel Carcillo scored what proved to be the game-winning goal 6:52 into the third period on his team's only shot of the stanza and Josh Tordjman made 38 of 40 saves as the Rampage swept a weekend-set with the Houston Aeros, winning 3-2 Saturday night before a crowd of 9,107 at Toyota Center.

The Rampage have collected seven of eight possible points (3-0-1-0) to begin their 14-game road jaunt and defeated Houston goaltender, and AHL All-Star, Nolan Schaefer in consecutive games to move 12 games over the .500 mark (25-13-3-4, 57 points).

The Rampage jumped on top with a goal from Jon DiSalvatore 3:18 into the second period with an assist from Matt Murley, his team-high 26th of the season.

Houston tied the game later in the period with an unassisted marker from Benoit Pouliot at 16:02.

The Rampage quickly regained the lead - just 40 seconds later - on Murley's 10th goal and team-leading 36th point. Chris Durno recorded his second assist of the night on the score, and fourth in three games.

Carcillo, the NHL's leader in penalty minutes, posted the winner in just his second game with the Rampage. He also added an assist in Friday night's 3-1 win.

Houston's Adrian Foster added a power-play goal a little over midway through the final frame to trim the Rampage lead to 3-2. Despite being outshot 20-1 in the final frame, the Rampage staved off the Houston attack the rest of the way to emerge victorious in their fifth meeting in the last month.

Tordjman earned his 15th win of the season and 30th as a member of the Rampage, tied with teammate David LeNeveu for second in franchise history. He stopped 63 of 66 shots on goal - over 95 percent - in the two-game set.

The Rampage improved to 11-6-1-2 away from the AT&T Center this year with the win.

While the team rests over the All-Star break, Rampage center Joey Tenute will head to Binghamton, N.Y. to participate in the AHL All-Star Classic Jan. 28 as a member of the Canadian squad.

The Rampage return to the ice at 6 p.m. Thursday in Lake Erie, where they will try to slay the Lake Erie Monsters.
