
P-Bruins Fall to Wolf Pack 3-0

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack 3-0 Saturday evening at the XL Center. The 34-7-2-1 Atlantic Division leading P-Bruins travel to the Cumberland County Civic Center next Saturday to face the Portland Pirates. Providence heads into the All-Star break eight points ahead of the second place Pirates.
The Wolf Pack got on the board only 1:50 into the opening period. Ryan Callahan took a shot from the top of the right face off circle and the puck was deflected into the net by Dane Byers for his 12th goal of the season. Andy Hutchinson recorded the assist as Hartford took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
After a scoreless second period, the Wolf Pack added a goal at the ten minute mark of the third period. Brodie Dupont tallied his sixth goal of the season off a shot from the left face off circle. Tom Pyatt and Lauri Korpikowski picked up the assists. The Wolf Pack added an empty net goal with 24 seconds left in the game. Mike Ouellette scored his third goal of the season with Byers and Greg Moore grabbing the assists. The Wolf Pack went on to the 3-0 victory.
Jordan Sigalet stopped 18 of 20 shots for the P-Bruins, while Miika Wiikman made 37 saves for the Wolf Pack. The P-Bruins were 0-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
The Atlantic Division-leading P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday, February 3 versus the Worcester Sharks at 2:05 p.m. Providence is also home Wednesday, February 6 against the Milwaukee Admirals and Friday, February 8 against the Wolf Pack for Winter Hat Night presented by Amica Insurance and Wood & Wire Fence Company.
