Rampage reassign Swanson to Texas

SAN ANTONIO - Jan. 8, 2004 - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the club has reassigned defenseman Jeremy Swanson to the Texas Wildcatters of the ECHL. The Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate of the Rampage.

The 20-year-old Swanson, who has split time with both Texas and San Antonio this season, was last recalled to San Antonio on Dec. 19. He appeared in four games with the Rampage and has played in 22 games with Texas this season, registering three assists and 28 penalty minutes (PIM).

The Red Rock, Ontario native was a sixth-round pick, 169th overall, by the Florida Panthers in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Currently in his first professional season, the 6-foot, 208-pound right wing Swanson spent training camp with the Rampage before being assigned to Texas prior to the start of the regular season. Swanson netted 22 goals and added 84 assists for 106 points in four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL)

The Rampage (14-17-2-4) travel to Chicago Saturday and Sunday and return home on Tuesday, Jan. 11, to play the Manitoba Moose at 7 p.m. (CST).
