Pirates Sign Brad Parsons

PORTLAND, ME – Portland Pirates Head Coach Tim Army announced today that center Brad Parsons has signed a Professional Try-Out (PTO) with the Portland Pirates. Parsons will be in the lineup for the Pirates game tonight against the Providence Bruins on Saturday Night at 7:05 p.m. at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Parsons was sent to South Carolina (ECHL) after the Pirates training camp this fall. He played in 27 games for the with the Stingrays where he registered 15 points (0 goals and 15 assists) and 13 penalty minutes.

Last season, Parsons played in 52 games with the Pirates and had his best night as a pro, scoring two goals (one on a penalty shot) and an assist against St. John's on October 24, 2003. He had a goal on April 11, 2004 against Springfield to establish a new career high for goals in a season.

Parsons career in the AHL began when he made his professional debut on October 11, 2002 against Norfolk. He earned his first professional point with an assist on October 12 at Springfield.

Parsons finished his college career at Princeton University during the 2001-2002 season with eight goals and 18 points. Those totals ranked him third in scoring for the Tigers and second in goals.
