Rampage Finish Rodeo Road Trip With Best Record In Team History

SAN ANTONIO (February 20, 2008) - The San Antonio Rampage finished their annual rodeo road trip Tuesday night with their best record in team history. Taking 18 of 28 possible points, the Rampage bring home a record of 7-3-1-3 and a .643 winning percentage that eclipses their previous best of .625 (7-4-1-0; 15 pts) set back during their inaugural 2002-03 season.

By losing only three games in regulation during the trip, the Rampage moved from fourth place in the West Division to third. With two games in hand over Rockford, the Rampage are poised to take over the #2 spot with a win at home this Friday when they host the Lake Erie Monsters at 7 p.m.

"Our guys played very hard from beginning to the end of the trip," said Head Coach Greg Ireland. "I like the way we competed and handled the adversity of a playoff-type schedule. We really came together as a team."

Below are some "Road Trip" memories:

§ Moved from fourth place with a 22-13-2-4 record (50 pts.), and 11 points out of second place, to third place with a 29-16-3-7 record (68 pts) and two points shy of second

§ Picked up their franchise-record 15th road win on Sunday in Quad City

§ Set longest road point-streak in team history with six straight (Dec. 27-Jan. 31; 5-0-1-0 record)

§ Chris Durno led the team in goals (6) and co-led in points (11) along with Joey Tenute

§ Brendan Bell, Bill Thomas and Tenute, and each led the team in assists (7)

§ Matt Murley had 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) in 11 games, including his three-point night in Peoria (Feb. 15)

§ Goaltender Josh Tordjman did not lose a regulation start on the trip (4-0-3), and allowed three goals or less in all nine appearances

§ Brendan Bell played his 300th professional game on Jan. 22 in Peoria

§ Greg Ireland coached his 600th professional game on Feb. 15 in Peoria
