San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO -- The Rampage outshot the Peoria Rivermen 32-28 but were unable to break a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 loss at the AT&T Center Thursday night.
The first period looked promising for the Rampage when Tyson Nash connected with Bill Thomas as he swung the puck around past Marek Schwarz's left skate for the Rampage's first and only goal of the night at the 12:55 mark.
Peoria responded with two goals when Jon DiSalvatore and Trent Whitfield helped Mike Glumac tally a goal at the 15:26 mark. DiSalvatore collected his second point of the night with five seconds left in the period with a shot off of Philippe Sauve to go up 2-1 on the Rampage.
After a scoreless second period, Peoria's Aaron MacKenzie took a shot towards the net and Charles Linglet was there to tap it in just left of Sauve halfway into the final period.
Sauve was pulled with about three minutes left to give the Rampage an extra attacker. Somehow Peoria got a piece of the puck as it slid the length of the ice and ricocheted off the left goal post along the red goal line barely missing an empty net goal and kept the score at 3-1.
The Rampage host the Hamilton Bulldogs Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center with a Halloween celebration.
