OMAHA, NE - The Iowa Stars made their first Regular Season trip to Nebraska to face the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in the first game of a home-and-home series on Thursday. Iowa suffered a 4-3 loss to the Knights and saw their six-game winning streak come to a halt. The Stars still have a four-game win streak at Wells Fargo Arena and look to push that to five with a win on Friday night.

For the fifth time in seven games, the Stars have scored the game's first goal. Center Joel Lundqvist gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 13:43 of the first period. Lundqvist's marker established a new franchise record with the team's seventh consecutive game with power-play tally and gave him a personal six-game points-streak. Defenseman Vadim Khomitski and Center Toby Petersen grabbed the assists. Khomitski now has one goal and six assists in his last four games: 4(1/6/7). The Stars took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Omaha's Cam Cunning evened the score at one just 3:36 into the middle period. Iowa's Mike Green capitalized on an Omaha turnover in the neutral zone when he skated in on a two-on-one on Omaha Goaltender Brent Krahn. Using the second Iowa player as a decoy, Green fired a shot glove-side for a 2-1 Iowa lead. Lundqvist and Marius Holtet earned the assists. Omaha's Brandon Prust evened the score at two at 14:40. Defenseman Richie Regehr gave the Knights a 3-2 lead with a slap-shot from the right point. Iowa Goaltender Dan Ellis was screened on the power-play goal. Just :22 seconds later, Iowa's Junior Lessard registered his League-leading 13th point of the season when he banged home a rebound of a Marty Sertich shot. Lessard leads the AHL with seven goals and six assists: (7/6/13). Petersen also picked-up his second assist of the game.

Omaha's Carsen Germyn scored the lone and game-wining goal at 3:55 of the third period. Iowa out-shot the Knights 11-3 in the final period.
