DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced this afternoon that the Iowa Stars have recalled defenseman Jared Nightingale from their ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.
A native of Cheboygan, Michigan, Nightingale has appeared in three games for the Steelheads, recording four penalty minutes: 3(0/0/0)4. The 6-2, 200-pound defenseman made his professional debut with the Springfield (MA) Falcons in late March of last season, where he registered his first professional goal on April 8th, 2006 against Providence. A right-handed shooter, he skated in 156 career games in four seasons at Michigan State University, accumulating 161 penalty minutes and 23 points: 156(2/21/23)161. Born on October 3rd, 1982, he was an Assistant Captain with the MSU Spartans during his senior season.
He will wear number 27 for the Iowa Stars.
IOWA STARS INFO: The Iowa Stars travel to Omaha to face the Knights on Thursday night. The second game of the home-and-home series with Omaha is Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
