(Volcanoes Stadium - Keizer, OR) - The Canadians pounded out 13 hits on Monday night while RHP Taylor Cole threw six scoreless innings to help Vancouver top Salem-Keizer 4-1 out at Volcanoes Stadium maintaining a slender lead on Eugene in the Northwest League West Division.
Vancouver opened the scoring in the top of the 6th inning when RF Carlos Ramirez hit a two-run double off the right-center field wall scoring both 2B Jason Leblebijian and LF Matt Newman as part of a three-run frame that gave the Canadians a 3-0 lead.
Ramirez ripped a triple to lead off the top of the 8th inning and scored on a double from SS Jorge Flores that snapped a 0-for-18 slump for the Canadians shortstop extending the gap to 4-0.
Canadians RHP Taylor Cole continued his winning ways on Monday night limiting the Volcanoes to just one hit over his six scoreless innings to improve to 5-0 on the season and lower his Northwest League leading ERA to 1.02 before turning over the ball to LHP Colton Turner (2.0IP) and RHP Tucker Donahue (1.0IP) who helped limit the Volcanoes to just a lone run.
Salem-Keizer 1B Joe Rapp hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 9th inning off of Canadians RHP Tucker Donahue to break the shutout bid.
