ynchburg came back from three separate deficits, but a couple of costly defensive mistakes helped Frederick earn the rubber match victory.

Frederick would plate the first run of the game in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead. The run scored without a hit thanks to a one-out walk and an error by Neftali Soto.

In the second inning Lynchburg took the lead with a pair of runs in the two-run home run by Kyle Day. It was the first homer of the season for Day and the Hillcats led 2-1.

The Keys recaptured the lead in the fourth with a three-run frame to make it 4-2. Billy Rowell and Buck Britton both brought in a run with a base hit in the inning.

The Hillcats rallied with a pair of runs in the fifth inning to tie the game at four. Josh Fellhauer brought in a run with a ground out and Alex Buchholz doubled in the tying run with a two-out two-bagger.

Frederick wasted no time responding though as they plated two run in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead at 6-4. Rowell smacked hit second double of the game and drove-in two more runs. Rowell drove in six runs in the series.

The Cats put their rally caps on again and plated two more runs in the top of the sixth to knot up the contest at six a piece. Devin Mesoraco blasted his second home run of the season and the series and Cody Puckett smacked a double off the wall in left as well.

The game stayed tied until the bottom of the eighth when another defensive miscue led to the game-winning run. The second error of the game by Soto led to the second unearned run of the game scored by the Keys.

The loss went to Lance Janke (0-2) for the Hillcats (4-6) and John Mariotti (1-0) earned the win in relief for the Keys (6-4).

The fourth of 13 games in a row on the road for the Cats continues on Monday night with the first game of a four-game series with the Salem Red Sox. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. and left-hander Matt Fairel (2-0, 0.00) is slated for the start for Lynchburg.
