The RockHounds' stay at "the beach" ended in the rain.
Sunday's series finale between the 'Hounds and Hooks was rained out Sunday evening at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.
As it was the final meeting of the season between the clubs, the game will not be made up.
The RockHounds now head for home to open the final week (and series) of the 2021 season, hosting the Tulsa Drillers (Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) at Momentum Bank Ballpark.
The six-game series opens Tuesday evening (6:30) and runs through next Sunday (September 19) at Rocky Town.
Kibbles & Bits
The RockHounds won the season series with the Hooks, 16-7, and went 9-2 at Whataburger Field in the process.
Three of the five games in the series were shutouts, and two of the contests took 12 innings to decide (very unusual with the new extra-innings protocol).
The 'Hounds took 3-of-5 despite scoring just eight runs in "regulation time."
It might not be "prime time drama," but the RockHounds return home one game under .500 (56-57) with six games remaining in the season.
