Tacoma, WA - The Rainiers used a pair of late-inning home runs to best the Memphis Redbirds 5-2 in front of 5,857 fans at Cheney Stadium on Sunday.

Infielder Dustin Ackley broke up a 2-2 tie with a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to put the Rainiers on top. Outfielder Ryan Langerhans followed up with a solo shot in the next at-bat to extend the lead to 5-2 and pave the way to a series split with the Redbirds.

Tacoma held the lead earlier in the game after erasing a 1-0 Memphis advantage with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Infielder Johan Limonta collected his 10th extra base hit with the Rainiers this season with a double to center field that scored Luis Jimenez and Alex Liddi.

Memphis battled back to tie the game at 2-2 with one run in the fifth. Outfielder Adron Chambers led off the inning with a triple and was driven home off a single from the designated hitter Andrew Brown in the club's next at-bat.

Reliever Royce Ring (2-1) collected the win after holding the Redbirds scoreless over 1.2 innings in the seventh and eighth, while walking one and fanning one. Right-hander Josh Lueke picked up his team-leading fourth save following a scoreless outing in the ninth.

Starter Chaz Roe turned in a strong outing, allowing two runs on four hits over five innings with four walks and six strikeouts.

The Rainiers (18-26) continue their eight-game homestand at 7:05 p.m. on Monday when the club opens a four-game series with the Nashville Sounds. Left-hander Fabio Castro (3-2, 4.50) is scheduled to start for Tacoma in the outing against Sounds right-hander Josh Butler (2-2, 5.23).
