Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Casey Blake is scheduled to join the Isotopes tomorrow, May 23 to begin a Major League rehabilitation assignment when Albuquerque hosts the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at 6:35 PM at Isotopes Park.

The veteran was placed on the Disabled List on April 29 with a staph infection in his left elbow and tomorrow is scheduled to be his first live game action since being sidelined. The length of Blake's rehab will be determined by the Dodgers as his stay with the ‘Topes progresses.

Blake has already had two stays on the DL this season. After returning from a lower back strain on April 6, the third baseman batted .321 (17x53) with 15 runs, two homers, and six RBI in 14 games before having to go back on the shelf with the elbow infection.

The veteran will be the third Dodger to join the ‘Topes on a rehab assignment this year, joining outfielder Jay Gibbons and shortstop Rafael Furcal.
