SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- The Rainiers season-high losing streak ended at eight games after Tacoma topped the Salt Lake Bees 7-3 at Spring Mobile Ballpark on Tuesday.

The Rainiers jumped to a big lead and held it after tallying four runs in the fourth inning. Infielder Luis Rodriguez gave Tacoma 1-0 edge after hitting a one-run single, then scored on a fielding error in the outfield in the Rainiers next at-bat.

Designated hitter Luis Jimenez added two more runs after hitting a two-run home run - his tenth of the season - with two outs in the inning.

Salt Lake cut Tacoma's lead to 4-3 after scoring three runs over the fifth and sixth, but the Rainiers added some insurance with three runs in the top of the ninth. Rodriguez and catcher Guillermo Quiroz each drove in runs with one-out singles and Franklin Gutierrez added another with a sacrifice fly that plated second baseman Scott Savastano.

Quiroz led a Rainiers lineup that combined to collect 11 hits after going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Rodriguez, Jimenez and third baseman Vinnie Catricala each turned in two-hit efforts.

Starter Brian Sweeney (2-1) turned in a steady 6.0 innings of work en route to picking up a win. The right-hander held the Bees to three runs on six hits and struck out five without issuing a walk. Relievers Steve Delabar (2.0) and Josh Kinney (1.0) combined to give up just two hits over 3.0 scoreless innings.

The Rainiers (25-40) look to snag a series win in the club's finale at Salt Lake (#-#) tomorrow, June 13. Right-hander Erasmo Ramirez (3-2, 3.11) is scheduled to start for Tacoma against right-hander Francisco Rodriguez (0-2, 5.28) for the Bees. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m.
