Reno, NV - The Tacoma Rainiers came up short in a 7-6 extra-innings loss to the Reno Aces at Aces Ballpark on Monday night.

With the score tied at 6-6, former Rainier Ryan Langerhans hit a ground-rule double off right-hander Chaz Roe in the bottom of the 12th inning to score Andy Tracy and send Tacoma to its seventh consecutive loss.

The extra innings were necessitated after the Rainiers strung together a come-from-behind effort in the ninth. Trailing the Aces 6-5, first baseman Matt Tuiasosopo drove in Michael Saunders from third base after grounding into a force out to tie the game at six runs apiece.

Tacoma trailed by as many as four runs after watching Reno take a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Tony Abreu and Cole Gillespie each doubled to put the Aces on top 3-0 in the first, while Angel Berroa and Abreu each singled in runs in the next inning.

Saunders and infielder Carlos Triunfel both stretched their hitting streaks to seven games, with Triunfel collecting three hits with a double and one RBI.

The right-hander Roe was dealt the loss after giving up the go-ahead run to the Aces in the 12th inning. Left-hander Luke French surrendered six runs on 12 hits with four strikeouts over four innings of work in his first start since being outrighted to Tacoma on August 18.

The loss puts the Rainiers 8.5 games behind first-place Reno in the PCL Pacific Northern Division with 14 regular season games remaining.

The Rainiers (63-67) look to avoid a series sweep when they take the field at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday for their finale at the Aces. Left-hander Chris Seddon (8-6, 6.43) is scheduled to take the mound for the Tacoma in the contest against right-hander Wes Roemer (0-0, 1.69) for Reno.

The game will be broadcast live on South Sound Sports 850-AM and can be streamed online at www.tacomarainiers.com.
