Rain Ends Bullfrogs and Mallards Early

The Bullfrogs trailed the Mallards 4-2 in the eighth inning when the rain that had been holding off all night finally set in. The game was eventually called after a brief delay, and ends in a 4-2 Madison victory.

The Mallards opened up the scoring in the first with a Tate Matheny (Missouri State) home run. Another came home in the second when Mike Fitzgerald (Indiana State) scored from second base, aided by a Jack Parenty (Stony Brook) error in right field.

The Bullfrogs tied the game in the fourth on a Boomer White (TCU) opposite field home run, scoring Tripp Martin.

The Mallards took the lead with two in the seventh, both charged to starter Bryce Bellin (Minnesota State), who pitched 6.1 innings on the night.

Bellin took the loss. He is 0-1 on the season. The win went to Nick Hibbing (Iowa). He is 2-2 on the season.
